Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa will lead a workshop on setting up and running a social enterprise at our Be Inspired day at Birkbeck, University of London. He will also be joining our panel of leading men to share his tips on leadership.
Tokunbo is a former journalist and founder of Catch 22 (C22), a dynamic social enterprise that engaged, trained and championed excluded young media talent – i.e. those that want experience but can’t get any due to their lack of experience. Running as a parallel to his career in journalism, he has been involved with youth development work for over a decade. In 1999 Tokunbo was co-founder of the ORIGIN rites of passage programme for young men of African African-Caribbean descent – the programme still runs till this day. His youth experience includes mentoring, workshop facilitating, one-to-one counselling and programme coordinating for youth based in London since 1996. In October 2007 Tokunbo was appointed one of the 35 Social Enterprise Ambassadors on the three-year Cabinet Office endorsed nationwide programme.
Tokunbo is a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) and has recently been appointed the head of GoThinkBig – a new social impact initiative by O2 and Bauer Media, that supports the career aspirations of under-25’s in the UK.
