Ama has over 10 years’ professional experience within diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and wellbeing (of which 2 years covers CSR experience).
She is passionate about diversity and inclusion and has in-depth knowledge of workplace culture, talent, diversity and health & wellbeing.
She is currently the Global LifeWorks & Inclusion Manager at Discovery Communications where she leads the agenda for a balanced, flexible and healthy work environment in partnership with the Head of the International Division – focusing on establishing a culture of inclusion primarily for the UK and Nordic offices.
Her prior positions include providing expertise to the International Talent Executive and Head of D&I and Learning Solutions for EMEA at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (as a VP diversity manager) supporting, implementing and advising on several D&I talent priorities and promoting the Bank’s regional diversity agenda in EMEA.
Prior to working at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Ama worked as a manager at Deloitte LLP, advising the Head of HR Client Services and the firm’s business service lines on how to incorporate diversity and inclusion into the firm-wide talent strategy – ensuring that they were inclusive in their approach. She was also the network leader for the firm’s Multicultural Diversity Network (MCN) and was awarded a Deloitte Leader in Society award for leading the Network. Prior to working at Deloitte, she worked at DLA Piper UK LLP coordinating the firm’s volunteering and education programmes and managed their ‘charity of the year’ partnership.
Ama has an LLB in Law and a Masters in Public Relations and Public Communications. She is a Governor/Trustee for the Boxing Academy, and the Social Mobility & Early Careers Board Member for Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT UK). She is also a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce and is a Friend of the British Institute for Interior Design.
