Janet will be joining our Law workshop at Birkbeck, University of London on 31st March 2012
Janet is a Senior Lawyer currently working in the public sector in the area of child protection. Having been called to the Bar in 2001, Janet worked for the ‘magic circle’ firms in the areas of acquisition & mergers, due diligence, reinsurance and compliance. Janet also has experience within the areas of Banking and IT Law, Media & Entertainment Law and general civil litigation. Janet has held a number of Public Relation & Legal positions within community based organisations over the years, organising high scale events, providing legal advisory roles and high level executive committee participation. As a University of London certified Lecturer of Law Janet also provides training to clients and students on a range of legal subjects.
Janet is a school Governor and London Co-Ordinator for the Williams Syndrome Foundation.
Janet has taken an active role in Nigerian community organisations and charities providing voluntary assistance for over 15 years, with the belief that together small steps can make great strides. Janet was the General Secretary for NIDOE UK South from 2007-2009, and Public Relations Officer from 2009-2011.
Janet is a founding member of the Nigerian Women in the UK steering committee that paid tribute and managed the First Lady of Nigeria’s entourage at the Nigerian Carnival 2011 and Awards banquet. Janet is the Project Leader for the Women for Africa awards taking place on 19th May 2012.
