Josef Cool is an award winning business student and entrepreneur who will be joining us at Inspire YOUth Derby at the Quad on 24th April 2014.
Josef’s entrepreneurial career started at the age of 10 when he lived in the US. He began developing and producing motivational music tracks to encourage young people to take positive steps in their lives. At age 11 he was featured on BBC TV as a junior news presenter for his school.
Josef has gone on to create an online educational tool which mixes motivational messages to music targeted at young people. This went on to successful secure a vInspired Cashpoint grant of £500. He has also won a regional vInspired National Awards where Josef was given the title ‘Most Outstanding Entrepreneur’ for his Inspiration Mixx.
In December 2012, Josef was given a monetary gift as a Christmas present, which he used to launch a clothing line called ‘Iz it Cool’. The clothing line was an instant success and he secured a concession in a retail store in the Westfield Shopping Mall in Derby. Realising that clothing was something everyone seems to be doing Josef looked for something more challenging he decided it would be better to think long-term and develop a brand rather than a clothing line.
He is also an award winner from Live Unltd and was granted £1,500 to research and develop his brand and business model. Since then the ‘Cool Question’ brand profile has gone from strength to strength.
He has recently been crowned winner of the Sheffield Entrepreneurs Challenge – a competition aimed at finding the city’s next young business star. He walked away with £500 towards his business, professional mentoring including business support and the chance to develop the Cool Question brand internationally.
He said: “My aim is to succeed in business and to make the Cool Question brand internationally famous.”
Adam Bradford, an ambassador for TV Dragon Peter Jones, said
“Josef is a star in the making. Young people have a real opportunity to make their enterprising ideas into a practical career option and Joe is an example of exactly that. His business idea is trendy, marketable and a real inspiration to other young people.”
Josef is also a vInspired VIP youth ambassador and has awards for his community volunteering. He is a keen volunteer and has participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and worked as a student counsellor at school.
He is passionate about football and plays for a number of local football teams.
