Jacky Wright will be joining Inspirational YOU at Birkbeck, University of London on Saturday 30th June 2012.  She will be a part of our ‘leading ladies: never give up’ panel.

Jacky is Vice President of Microsoft IT Strategic Enterprise Services and oversees Microsoft IT’s Enterprise Services and Platform. These services range from SAP, AX, and process services such as Quality & Business Excellence and Supplier Management. Her Strategic Enterprise Services IT (SES) organization drives product and operational excellence, agility, and customer centricity across the Company.

A major part of Jacky’s charter is to use the latest Microsoft pre-production software in high availability, 24×7 production environments, as part Microsoft IT’s First & Best Program. She uses these experiences to drive real-world feedback into Microsoft products before they are released to market. She ensures SES solutions and teams help validate and improve Microsoft products targeted at the Enterprise. The First & Best Program keeps her on the cutting edge and engaged with Microsoft’s product and business groups.

Before assuming her current role at Microsoft, Jacky was VP/CIO of Corporate Functions at BP. In that capacity she led all IT strategy, development and implementation for BP’s Corporate, Alternative Energy, and Shipping segments as well as Mergers and Acquisitions. Jacky brings more than 20 years of technical and business experience to Microsoft including CIO roles at GE and senior management roles at Accenture, AutoNation, and Ryder. She draws on extensive global experience in strategy, consulting, large scale program development, implementation, and management across a variety of industries.

Jacky holds a BBA from the City University of New YorkBaruch College and is a Quality Six Sigma Master Black Belt. She serves on the Board of  ‘ Year Up’ – Puget Sound Chapter, whose mission focuses on providing urban young adults with the professional and personal development needed to place them on a viable path to economic self-sufficiency. She also serves on various advisory boards including the CIO Winmark Advisory Panel in the UK.

As a trailblazer in the technology industry, and as a senior level woman of color in IT, Jacky is a strong advocate for women and minorities in technology and sciences. She dedicates significant time and energy to partnering with groups to promote this agenda.

In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
