Better Future is Shell’s UK campus tour that will make bold predictions about the world of work in 20 years’ time. Each event will take a different topic for example – will there still be a gender pay gap? How will automation affect the engineer? What does globalisation mean to your career? This event focuses on the future of diversity/BAME in the workplace.
The Event
This evening event will consist of an introduction to Shell and the energy industry, a panel discussion on BAME diversity in the workplace and application tips for applying for roles. You will have the chance to ask the panel about their careers, what they’ve seen change and advice for the future. You will also learn more about Shell and what they look for in their candidates. Please note event registration is on a strictly first come first served basis
The Panel
Sonia Meggie is a multi-award winning business and diversity leader, granted the BE Mogul prize for being one of the most influential and successful black business people in Britain. She will be joined by Izzy Obeng, the creator of ‘Foundervine’ which helps entrepreneurial talent to flourish and two senior leaders from within Shell. On the occasion of Black History Month, each will discuss some of the key barriers to diversity specific to race/ethnic minorities/BAME. What are the difficulties facing BAME candidates in the workplace? What is being done to remove these?
