Charlotte Ball, will be joining our Leading women’s on Saturday 29th June.
Over the last few years Charlotte has been inspiring young women across the UK (and young men too). Firstly with her work as founder of the Young Enterprise School, which has now evolved into Discovering Enterprise, in which she works closely with students and teachers providing enterprise and innovation programmes and schemes that encourage them to look at possibilities for their futures that they may not have considered.
She has worked with awarding body SFEDI over the last few months creating qualifications for young people that provides both enterprise and mentor skills that can be incorporated into the national curriculum. This is being rolled out in September for the 2013/2014 school year and will enable young people to work with their fellow students, and encourage them.
Her role as a STEMnet Ambassador has given Charlotte the opportunity to work with young women showing them how technology can be a suitable skill and career path and she often gives talks and seminars on these subjects to colleges.
She was recently asked to become a Patron for the charity Young Womens Day, and is looking forward to highlighting the work currently being undertaken, especially in areas where women feel they do not have as much access as men.
She sits on numerous panels for advising on enterprise, education and is currently working on a Young Offenders project in the UK, which will help break down barriers and provide equality upon their release with the department of business innovation and skills.
She is a writer for Birds On The Blog, providing weekly posts on enterprise, education and also the odd fashion tip and guide and also sits on several boards of charities as a Non- Executive and advises other bodies such as OCN.
Her background was originally through marketing, becoming Programme Director
of a successful marketing academy and working with numerous agencies and corporations as a business specialist consultant.
